Metric Division Case Study

This is an excerpt from the paper...

The Metric Division is a new division of a large organization that faces several challenges. Perhaps the most important of these is a lack of understanding of the goals of the organization, beyond the obvious goals of making a profit. The division was recently reorganized so that it is now responsible for an entire product line; this represents a shift to a divisional organization from what was presumably a functional organization previously. At the same time, the respondents expect that there will be feedback based on the interview process, and that part of the agreement should also be upheld. The respondents spoke candidly with the expectation that their views would be listened to and·even if no action is taken·noted. Feedback is a cornerstone of that process since it indicates that the information received from the respondents has been listened to. The feedback process can also provide respondents with the opportunity to make additional notes regarding their positions or the process. At this point, the data is in a form that may not protect anonymity, particularly since some responses are specific about the respondent and his or her relationship with other specific individuals. If the data were released in this form to the entire team, it would not be difficult for individuals to determine who ma
