Conese and Maselli (1991) used a multi temporal image to individualize information classes that were confused in a single date image; Gong et Howarth used textural information to improve classification accuracy; and many authors used GIS procedures based on ancillary information (see below). Table 1 shows the results obtained using visual interpretation and digital spectral classification, sometimes improved by GIS procedures.
