Metaknowlege, Metalearning & Metacognition

Metaknowledge, metalearning, and metacognition are aspects of critical thinking skills, the acquisition of understanding and how to control one's personal mental processes. Metacognition is sometimes simply called thinking about thinking. Flavell himself called it "knowledge and cognition about cognitive phenomena" (Hacker, 2). The work of Flavell brought to the general public an understanding of the concepts of Jean Piaget.
