This influence on the American economy in the area of manpower is sometimes overlooked, as McDonalds has more than 500,000 people on the payroll at any one time, easily one of the largest employers in the U.S. (Love 1995, p.5). Most of those former employees now work elsewhere, but it was at McDonalds that they learned about work routines, job discipline, and organizational teamwork.
