The first element of the model is "Vision". This element is important to Microsoft. "...it drives all actions. It is understood by everybody who works there, and serves as a guide to judging actions. If it's a real vision, and not just wishful thinking, it works"
Focus plays a major role in the Microsoft organizational model. Every issue is explored meticulously, and until it is completed or resolved. Every activity worth doing or considering is the center of attention. If they have a problem, they don't solve it by ignoring it -- it won't go away. They stay on it until it's solved (Gates, 1998).
