The people of Kuwait, man and women, share a desire to preserve the tradition of Kuwait as a country with shared values and a system of government based on public consensus. They also share a strong desire to preserve Kuwait's tradition of good relations both with its regional neighbors and with the rest of the world.

The objective of the policy is therefore to extend the vote to Kuwaiti women, while preserving the balance of Kuwaiti society and its good relations with its neighbors and other countries. Kuwaitis wish to belong to a modern, progressive society, but also one that respects the traditional values of Kuwaiti society and the Arab-Islamic region of which Kuwait is part.

4. Supportive Public Diplomacy Objectives

The primary objective of public diplomacy by Kuwaiti women's organizations will be to broaden the understanding of Kuwait in the rest of the world. As discussed above, foreign commentators have trouble getting past stereotypes to a fuller picture of the concerns of Kuwaiti women. International support will be more effective if it is based on understanding and respect for Kuwaiti society, rather than on stereotypes. This effort will thus also serve the purpose of building an overall bridge of understanding.
