Good employee communication is crucial regardless of the business involved (Carper, 1991, p. 13). Through strong communication, employees and managers are able to understand the needs that each has, and bring problems to the surface before they become unsolvable. In this way, the business is able to operate more effectively and profitably. Strong marketing tools can be a help in developing good employee communication, but companies which have good relations between management and staff generally have a commitment from the highest levels of the organization. This is one of the reasons that my first attempts at bringing change to an organization met with difficulty: I was not able to initially understand the culture that existed at the property and which effectively hindered my efforts at implementing change (
