The systems administration and support function in the PDQC IT function will be responsible for both the installation and support of all IT operations in the company. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all IT hardware and software, as well as for the installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting if the company networks. To the extent feasible and optimal, the performance of all of these activities will be in-house. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the determination that a requirement exists for external service support.
The Systems Administrator, in consultation with users, will determine the company's hardware requirements. With the hardware requirements established, the Systems Administrator, in consultation with the company finance officer, will acquire the necessary hardware. Hardware vendors will install the hardware when feasible. When vendor installation is not feasible, company IT personnel will install hardware.
