The fact that such information might prove to have useful applications is expected, but incidental to the general purpose of the study. Such problems as marital adjustment, the sexual education of children, or the social control of behavior do not fall within the mission of the investigators. But these problems are not ignored in the report's mission statement and by acknowledging them it points up its full awareness of the range of applications the work might have.
