One element of God's will clearly revealed is that each person "labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need" (Ephesians 4:28). Thus, even if the Christian is unemployed, he or she can know that God wants each one to work at something, and the Christian career counselor can be helpful in finding volunteer positions while full employment is once again secured. For those questions not specifically answered in the Bible, the Christian must look deeper and consult with experts both on interpretation of the Scriptures and on answering the question one has. Proverbs 11:14 says "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety." The first meaning of this statement is that one should go to other counselors to obtain interpretations, as well as answers, to difficult questions. It also says that one should consult more than one counselor, because many different people will have many different areas of expertise.

A career counseling center can be seen as a centralized clearing house for the many types of counselors available to answer questions about one's career. A Christian career counselor would also be able to provide the necessary Biblical perspective on career choices, to help one avoid the wrong companies such as the pornography distributer.
