To apply RP Morality, a company must in its code of ethics identify its audience and its stakeholders. It must further evaluate the seriousness of any rights infringements which its actions might impose and then identify and aggressively pursue alternative courses of actions that produce the least serious rights infringement (Meiners, et al, 1994). To that end, a corporate code of ethics must address business ethics, employee and stakeholder rights, environmental concerns, cultural diversity, and the nexus between the corporation and the larger socio-political system in which it functions (Miller & Jentz, 2000).

To create a code of ethics for Barton Manufacturing, three corporate codes of ethics were identified. These corporate codes were promulgated by Cummins Engine Company (2002), Lockheed Martin (2003), and Dow Corning Corporation (1996). All three codes of ethics are available online from the Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions, maintained by the Illinois Institute of Technology at www.iit.edu/departments/
