We must offer support to our co-worker by respecting their ideas, or more importantly, their right to express those ideas. This means we have to be willing to listen to what they have to say and consider their suggestions.
We have to watch out for mistakes made by our co-worker, which is another way of protecting them from those errors and of assisting them in seeing that they do their job as best they can. We have to be ready to tell them when they have made a mistake so they can correct it.
How we do this is an important behavior--we have to correct mistakes in a supportive way and not in a denigrating manner. The co-worker must understand that we are trying to help and not to dominate.
