Grant Research & Writing

local, district, city, county, or even at the national level.

Libraries will vary on how much information they have on grants, but if you check out a few, you will find a wealth of information (Prebyl). Many libraries also make the internet available for use, which is also a good source of information on grants. Any of the major search engines, such as Google, can help you find information on grants and how to write them, from general information on grant writing, to specific grants. Many grantors have applications which can be filled in and submitted online, or at least downloaded from the web. Another good source of information is friends and associates who have themselves gone through the grant-writing process. Whether they were successful or not, there is sure to be something to be learned from their experiences. There are also people who give grant-writing seminars, and there are grant-writing newsletters, which may be helpful.

The US Department of Education is another source for grant-writing information for teachers (Grants). The Government Information Services/Education Funding Research Council (GIS/EFRC) is another source which can be tapped into on line, as can FundNet Services Online, Edutopia, SchoolGrants, Scholastic Grant and Funding Connections (a source of their own grants, and links to others), Tech Learning Grants, and SchrockguideÆs Grant Sources
