at his last stand at Little Bighorn, lived to tell about the massacre. Two other Crow scouts, White-Man Runs Him and Hairy Moccasin, also survived.

The Crows had elaborate rules governing the behavior of adults toward children. Fathers sponsored feasts and made speeches about their children's future, taught their sons survival skills. Mothers gave their daughters instruction in domestic skills. The Crows were famous for their striking appearance: fine features, muscular build, long black hair, their elegantly crafted clothes and leather goods. Prior to contact with white men, Crows wore clothes of tanned deer, elk, antelope, and buffalo skins for both everyday and dress wear.
