Psycho-historical Analysis of Bill Clinton's Adolescence

problematic as the early death of his

father, his conflicts with his stepfather, and his closeness with his mother produced a sense of responsibility (e.g., for his much younger brother) and even resulted in a name change as he, at age fifteen, officially took his stepfather's last name in order to reinforce the family structure. Academically Clinton was a very high achiever and is described as being quite gifted yet as determined to succeed in purely academic matters as he was in all the associated activities he undertook. 11is achievements combined to earn scholarships to Georgetown, Oxford, and Yale. Most notably his application to Georgetown, the only college he applied to, was based on his highly unusual (in Arkansas) desire to pursue studies in foreign affairs.

Clinton became increasingly focused on the goal of politics as a
