Now, 11 years after his death, Ted Bundy is still something of a morbid fascination to many, and countless studies have been done on this man by so called experts, and millions of dollars have been made off of him ("The Forgotten Victims of Ted Bundy," 2000).
As with most serial killers, the first mystery surrounding Bundy was his identity as bodies were found across the country; the second and more difficult mystery remains in the question, why did he turn into a killer? This is a question that occupies many authorities, psychiatrists, and other professionals, and ultimately there is no consensus on what forms a serial killer. There may indeed be different processes in different cases, but the very existence of such killers frightens us because we do not know how it happens and do not know how to stop it from happening in the future.
