Celebrating Passover, then, as a festival of liberation under God, also reminds the Jewish people every year of their relationship with God. It gives them the opportunity to be grateful---as a people in community with one another---for God, for His love of them, and for their deliverance from bondage due to His intervention.

The Exodus which Passover celebrates was also the first major sign that the Jewish people were in fact chosen by God for a special relationship with Him and for a special destiny.
