One important area that the Museum needs to address is the decline in member ship revenues. There are two components to the membership revenue problem. First, there is the number of individual members of the Museum. Second, there is the choice made by members in relation to which category to join. These two factors together create the membership revenue stream. Exhibit 2, which may be found in the Appendix, shows the trends in membership levels by membership category and in total. Exhibit 3, which also may be found in the Appendix, shows the trends in membership revenues by membership category and in total.
There exists a significant problem with the case data relative to membership dues. The data presented in Case Exhibit 4 (p. 567) relative to "Membership Revenue" do not report the correct totals by year. The discrepancies are as follows:
