Other medical staff are also going to be asked to reinforce the quitting smoking program with all their patients who smoke by either providing them with guidelines for stopping or reinforcing them once they have had a chance to read them. This will be a team effort to reduce smoking in this community. However, the initial impetus to stop smoking will come from the nurse first seen in the clinic.
