Perceptions of candidates' competence
Independent variables include: whether the viewers were students or not, whether the respondents had viewed all of the debates or just one, and how many days there were between the debates and the election.
Control variables include sample size, as well as information about the nature of the study being included. This information included which campaign or debate was studied, whether the study included students, whether the study included polling data, and whether the design was pre test post test or post test only.
