The effectiveness of the implemented change in relation to increased empowerment for the nursing faculty. Requiring that all members of the nursing faculty engage in a minimal level of practice, and the involvement of all faculty members in departmental administration has changed the relationships that previously existed between both the departmental administration and the departmental faculty, and between the practicing and non practicing members of the faculty. The outcomes within the context of empowerment have been greater empowerment for faculty members generally in relation to the departmental administration, and, strangely enough, greater empowerment for all faculty members within the context of the practice/theory dichotomy.
