The second conclusion of the study concerns the Amount of Time Spent in Group Therapy and the Level of Illness Variables. The findings of the study indicated that these factors did not affect either perceptions of group cohesiveness or perceptions of selected therapeutic factors. However, the degree of confidence which can be placed in the findings with respect to the Level of Illness variable can be said to be, at best, tentative; this because of the fairly low range of people falling into the different illness categories. This narrowing of the distribution might have resulted in failure to find significant associations between the illness variable and the perception variables.

As for the Amount of Time variable, it must be remembered that this study only examined for differences in perceptions at three levels of Time, namely Less than Six Months, Between Six Months and One Year, and Over One Year.
