Full-inclusion is a strategy being promoted in many special education settings currently. It differs from mainstreaming, or partial integration in that the child with special needs is transferred out of a special education setting and into a regular classroom for full time instruction. With autistic children, this may not be the most appropriate settling for the majority of the child's education. Autism presents several environmental problems for the regular teacher to solve which he may not be either physically able to accomplish or may not have the necessary time, training or motivation to overcome.
