Because assessment is such an important aspect of the model, several instruments have been developed to assist in arriving at a correct diagnosis; however, others are still needed. This need is addressed by Dixon and Strano (1989) who have pointed out that as yet no instrument has been developed for accurately diagnosing one of the key components of the model, namely feelings of inferiority and inadequacy.
