Whistleblower Protection Act

eclares that this Act does not preempt other laws and allows States to enforce laws providing equivalent or greater worker protection.

The bill was introduced by Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fl.) and was referred in January 6, 1999 to the Committee on Commerce, and also to the Committee on the Judiciary for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned (H.R./All , 1999; Whistleblower, 1999). On January 6, 1999, ir was referred to the House of Commerce by the House Committee on Commerce, and on January 20, 1999 was referred to the Subcommittee on Health and Environment. The House Judiciary Committee on January 6, 1999 referred the bill to the Subcommittee on Crime.
