AREA OF PROFICIENCY: ADVANCED KNOWLEDGE รน CASE STUDY IN THE DELIVERY OF HEALTH SERVICES
This work will include (a) a review and an assessment of applying change in community health delivery environments, (b) a review of current and projected problems and issues affecting the development of effective community health interventions and the introduction of desirable changes in existing community health programs, and (c) the design, execution, and evaluation of a case study demonstrating the effective introduction, implementation, and management of planned change in a community health services venue.
The learning objectives for this work will include the following:
Developing an understanding of the breadth of the current and projected future problems that are likely to affect the delivery of health services in community health venues
Developing an understanding in depth of the problems and issues that likely will exert substantial pressures on the development of effective innovations in the delivery of community health services
Developing an understanding of the links between poverty and the capacity of government and private sector organizations to provide effective community health services
An understanding of the functioning of the process of change in organizations and the resistance of organizations and individuals to planned change is essential to the development of effective practices for the delivery of health services through effective social outreach.
