The Alaska Growth Capital Fund is organization formed to stimulate economic development within the aboriginal communities located within the State of Alaska. The organizations applied and received some initial funding from the federal government. Alaska Growth Capital has developed proposals for the funding of economic development activities, as well as for both increasing and preserving the organization's own capital base. The specific focus of the proposed study will be on the determination of what types of economic development services are most needed by Alaska's aboriginal communities. The purpose of such determination would be to enable the Alaska Growth Capital Fund to develop strategies and programs that would make the organization more effective in fulfilling its mission. A second objective of the proposed study will be to determine if the aboriginal communities would purchase such services if they are perceived as being needed, while a third objective will be to determine if the aboriginal communities would purchase such services specifically from the Alaska Growth Capital Fund.
The scope of the proposed research study would cover beliefs, attitudes, and perceptions among the state's aboriginal communities with respect to economic growth, capital needs, and the purchase of related financial consulting services from sources outside of the aboriginal communities.
