Overall, the research revealed that young offenders who perceived their facility negatively experienced higher levels of stress and anxiety than those who perceived the facilities more positively. Finally, the study suggested that youth in boot camps became less anti-social and less depressed over time than youths in traditional facilities though this may have been due less to the type of facility than to individual perceptions.
