This definition certainly includes power as exercised at gunpoint. If I point a gun at you and order you to hand over your wallet, the presumption is that you do so not cheerfully, but because you value your life more than your cash and credit cards. The definition does not, however, include "doctor's orders." If your doctor says to stop smoking or you'll die, it is not because he will shoot you if you refuse (Wrong, 2002, p. 53). The coercive threat, however, need not be the use of force as such.
