Chapter I explores the history of the Church as it developed the strict sexuality-related policy which is causing so many problems and divisions in and out of the Church today. Chapter II examines the forces in the Church pushing toward reform, but Chapter III shows how the Church failed to follow through on that opportunity in the area of birth control. Chapter IV examines the Church's anti-abortion policy and concludes that the Church's "sexual teachings" continue to "come out of a theology of fixed and uncompromising law" (126).
