Jordan is also the individual who first gains the confidence of Gatsby. For Nick, Jordan becomes his entree into the world of West Egg to a greater degree than his relationship to Daisy, and Jordan also comes to embody the question of honesty which will become so important to Nick that he abandons the values of the West Eggers after Myrtle's death. He begins seeing Jordan more and more in New York and reacts to her character:
