replace abutments and fixation screws annually. Surface qualities of dental implants are important to achieve good osseoimplantation and good periimplant gingiva. Eccentric forces, overloading of implants, and stress forces cause periimplant bone loss in the crestal regions which are detrimental to the implants. The only way to eases the tension is by biokinetic abutments positioned in the implant neck region. This has been achieved in the past using silicon interpolated shock absorbing elements. The silicon abutments were in direct contact with the gingiva, which is not a good situation, so the present implants were designed to avoid this problem.
The Mobile-Implant (SIS-Inc., Klagenfurt, Austria) used is a self-cutting conical screw implant with a smooth neck section for transgingival healing, and the implant head is fixed at the cervical implant part (Gaggl and Schultes, 2001, 3062). The biokinetic shock-absorbing unit is in the center of the implant, with three elastic silicon rings embedded in a chamber and pressed on their bed by a central
