It would probably be easy to encourage the guests to consider whether most peopleÆs disdain for history results from bad teaching and partisan interpretations. The guests could discuss their own teaching methods, and offer reasons why they believe their methods are effective. One can expect that the points to be made will include emphasis on the fact that history is essentially a story; when chronological narrative is forgotten, then the details of history lack significance.
