Klein leveraged his general popularity with the media to very effectively lobby journalists and commentators. He would orchestrate leaks of information in order to generate columns, and use his personal relationships with journalists to generate favorable editorial support for administration policies and proposals. After NixonÆs speeches, Klein would call opinion makers for their opinions on the performance.
