In my perfect world, the government would be an absolute monarchy ruled by me, with an economy based on the gold standard. I would have advisors, as all monarchs do, and I would also solicit the opinions of the people through those advisors, which monarchs rarely do. There would be political parties, but they would not have a part in the government except as lobbies to make their concerns heard. I would have my advisors meet with parties that had issues they wanted brought before me, and those advisors would make concerns known to me as well as providing background information on the impact that implementing the partyÆs ideas would have on the nation and how the partyÆs philosophy was connected with any type of dissident activity. I would insist that my advisors inform me not only of facts but of themes and connections between party activity and issues in the general populace. Political parties often identify issues that should be resolved, but they do not always have the appropriate solution themselves, so I would ask my advisors to investigate concerns and bring me potential solutions that I would decide on.The social aspects of my monarchy would involve humane treatment for all people and animals. People who committed crimes against humanityùmurder, torture, rape, slavery, and so onùwould be given a fair trial, but if found guilty would be executed unless willing to undergo psychological rehabilitation.
