This industry presents a number of challenges to HR, related to the industry overall and employee recruitment, development, and retention. The cable television industry's primary HR challenges overall include finding and keeping people who can change with technology, change management within the organization, and the coordination of multiple industries within one company. In terms of employee recruitment, the key challenges are dealing with changing workforce demographics, the changing face of organizations, and rapid technological change. Employee development and retention pose challenges of their own, including the development of effective training and development programs, human capital development, and effective resource planning.
