The industry selected for the HR audit is the cable TV industry. This industry presents a number of challenges to HR, related to the industry overall and employee recruitment, development, and retention. The cable television industryÆs primary HR challenges overall include finding and keeping people who can change with technology, change management within the organization, and the coordination of multiple industries within one company. In terms of employee recruitment, the key challenges are dealing with changing workforce demographics, the changing face of organizations, and rapid technological change. Employee development and retention pose challenges of their own, including the development of effective training and development programs, human capital development, and effective resource planning.

With its rapidly changing technology, the cable television industryÆs HR must face the challenge of finding and keeping people who can change with technology. An employee who is a genius at todayÆs technology but who cannot adapt to tomorrowÆs is difficult to keep employed, so HR needs to select people who are not only adept but adaptable and interested in staying current with their skills. At the same time, the changing face of organizations and the need for change management in the globalized arena require adaptability to change at a different level.
