In my own case, I left college after failing to handle the responsibility that moving away from home and being utterly responsible for myself brought. At that time, I was convinced that college was not the appropriate choice for me and I began working full-time intent on building a career. As a progressed in my work, I decided that I was mature enough to return to college, but my college education now had a more tangible objective: to help further my advancement in my career. As a result, I am more focused on my studies, and have learned to budget my time so that my social activities, work responsibilities and college studies work in concert rather than create conflict.
