4. Operational Definitions of Variables (P. 8)

A. Applied Kinesiology - this term refers to the use of the principles and mechanics of human anatomy as related to human movement (Callahan & Callahan, 1996). Applied Kinesiology is defined as manually testing the muscles to evaluate body functions (Goodheart, 1987; Walther, 1988). For this study, a single method of applied kinesiology will be used, the F/O Holding Technique.

B. Frontal/Occipital (F/O) Holding Technique B This stress reduction technique is a Three-In-One/One Brain technique involving the neurovascular reflexes on the forehead and client visualization of the stressor. One palm is placed on the forehead and the other is placed on the occipital bone at the back of the head, while the client visualizes the stressful situation (Gallo, 1999).
