Statistical studies have suggested a profile of violent juvenile offenders. Typically they are black or Hispanic males from unstable, often one-parent families in which there is a high degree of conflict (Kramer, 1988, p. 14). They usually don't get along with their parents, who provide little or no supervision, and were very young when they began to commit crimes, very often with poor support. Further, they tend to be school dropouts and for all practical purposes are unemployable.
