Among the oddities that result from the eclectic approach of the cult's beliefs is the fact that adherents see the soul as being able to exist in several places at once. Even if it is assumed that that the Vietnamese concept of soul is more akin to the Christian concept of the spirit than the Christian concept of the soul, this ability to inhabit several locations at once does not fit. Thus, the cult views and the Christian views will never entirely mesh, but Reimer at least provides insights as to how to approach cult believers with the Christian message.

An element of the cult that ties into the next article is that of worship of the ancestors. Reimer acknowledges that worship of ancestors in the Vietnamese cult of the ancestors is important, "For it is the soul of the ancestors that provide the living with a line of communication into the spirit universe where the fortunes of the living are controlled."[4]
