Interestingly, while it is generally accepted that IQ is innate in a person and cannot be changed, EQ can actually be taught (Solagbade, 2010). He can learn ways to control his impulses and regulate his moods, as well as developing greater empathy toward other people (Solagbade). Tayo Solagbade (2010) refers to this as an "ability to get into 'flow' or 'the zone.'"
