Shouldn't she be required to carry the fetus to term no matter what? The problem with the argument that the fetus is a human being that has certain rights that must be protected is that it ignores the fact that the rights of human beings are constantly being weighed against each other in society. In the case of a pregnant woman, in particular, the balance should be tipped in favor of the presumably rational, thinking mother.
