t the fetus is a human being whose interest in life should be protected, how can they determine that the mother's life is more worthy of protection than the fetus's if carrying the fetus puts her life in danger? Shouldn't she be required to carry the fetus to term no matter what? The problem with the argument that the fetus is a human being that has certain rights that must be protected is that it ignores the fact that the rights of human beings are constantly being weighed against each other in society. In the case of a pregnant woman, in particular, the balance should be tipped in favor of the presumably rational, thinking mother.

One would like to think that the obvious ridiculous nature of Martin Yaqzan's statement would be obvious on its face. However, more than likely, there are numerous people who agree with Yaqzan's point-of-view.
