This list of goals is reported as leading one to the conclusion that schools are a place to think and yet research finds that the predominating methods used in education include teachers informing, listening to the teacher, and questioning. The author believes that this would preclude the goal of creativity and aesthetic perception, since it does not appear that schools provide balance that invites creativity. Thus it seems that although knowledge exists regarding needs for commitment to the individual, there is still reluctance to provide that which permits its full cultivation.
