Art Therapy for Ill Children

not specifically address itself to the use of art therapy for children with life-threatening illnesses, but rather to the use of art therapy in several situations involving death; e.g. death of a parent, etc. What makes the article highly relevant to the use of art therapy for children with emotional illnesses is the fact that it addresses the use of drawing by computer graphics to express death themes and related feelings.

As with regular art therapy, death themes are explored by encouraging children to use the microcomputer to draw a picture. Elements of these drawings are then used by the therapist and child to explore his/her feelings, thoughts, and actions. Thus, the implications for this technique in situations where children have life-threatening illnesses are direct.
