Indeed, the structure was such an extension of St. Clair's personality and management style that it probably cannot be maintained in his absence. Changing economic conditions and the fact that the plant has been operating for five years have created a situation St. Clair never had to face. Goble has inherited a complex organi-zation which functions effectively in many areas. It does not need to be completely redesigned, but minor adjustments are inevitable when a different management personality takes over.

A second goal is to improve the effectiveness of the team advisors and to create room for advisors to advance. Currently there are many inconsistencies in the way advisors operate. Some consider it a dead end job, and a high percentage of team members who were promoted to advisors quit within a short time in order to return to the work teams
