fficulty. Invisible symptoms are the ones that cause MS patients to feel that often other people don't understand all that they're going through.

The visible symptoms may include difficulty with vision, difficulty with weakness or coordination, some bladder symptoms and difficulty with walking because of all of those other problems of coordination and weakness.

But some of the invisible symptoms are important as well for understanding what MS patients go through. There may be difficulty with what we call cognition, which is memory, concentration. There may be difficulties with mood. There are phenomena such as certain types of pain, tingling or experiences of numbness that other people simply can't see and appreciate and that are the difficult invisible symptoms of MS.

This is part of the story, but it really doesn't tell all that's going on in the disease.
