A photograph as artistic expression

ing else, reminds me that my own life is just a small piece of a much bigger universe. At the same time that the size of the mountain makes my own life seems insignificant, it also reminds me that the mountain belongs to this earth, just as I do, and that in some strange way, everything on this earth is connected. The photograph helps me to experience a oneness with life and nature.

Although I have been to Yosemite National Park, and have also taken my own photographs there, none of my work compares to the work of Ansel Adams, who spent the better part of his life perfecting his craft. The photograph also reminds me of another time, when glaciers covered the valley, and how many years ago they carved the beautiful face of this mountain.

Finally, since my career goal is to become a geologist, this particular piece of art has some personal significance. The photograph represents the things I love: earth, rock formations, and things which were formed thousands or millions of years ago but which still remain for us to admire and enjoy.
