r the assistance provided by the special education teacher who works with me in adapting the implementation of the curriculum, I do not think I will be able to cater to needs of the few special needs students in the class. For instance, in biology, she introduces visuals for the overhead projector, or modifies the review and study sheets for the students with special needs. Instead of responding with long essays, the students only need to fill in the blanks. If they require additional assistance, the special education teacher will take them to the back of the classroom and give them small-group tutoring.

My main concern with classroom discipline is to promote an appropriate learning environment by increasing on-task behavior and encouraging respectful behavior, especially with regard to the students with special needs. Therefore, I established clear rules about classroom behavior at the start of the school year, which are explained to the class. Students who continue to be disruptive are sent to the principal in order to minimize disruption to the lesson. In the case of students with special needs, we bring in a behaviorist to conduct a behavioral analysis to figure out how to minimize their disruptive behavior.

6. To be honest, I have learned a lot from talking with the special education teacher and observing her interaction with them. One of the most important things is to have high expectations for the students with special needs even as we make individual modifications to accommodate their deficits. Also, I try to show as much attention as I can by including them in class activities such as putting them into groups with the typical children and making sure that they are treated with respect in the class. I also give strong feedback to them to encourage them to work hard on their studies.
