instruction (Guided Instruction versus Discovery/Browse Instruction) for undergraduate college social work students' use of an interactive video lesson on childhood sexual abuse. Further, measures of instructional efficacy are examined for possible relation to whether students evaluate the lesson on an individual or group basis (Individual versus Group Consensus Response Type).
To fully understand the research problem, it is helpful to review three areas of related research: (1) the general use of simulations in educational instruction; (2) the existing literature on types of instruction used in interactive videodisc learning; and (3) the existing literature on decisions and evaluations made by students on a group or an individual basis. While this literature is extensively examined in the proposal's presented review of the literature, the general findings of publications and studies conducted in these areas can be briefly summarized here.
