However, in its single-class, high-density configuration, the plane will seat a maximum of 550 (Proctor, 1994, pp. 48-49). With 390 passengers, the stretched version's range will be 4,600 nautical miles (Main, 1992, pp. 102-104, 108, 112, 116-117).

Three different manufacturers--Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, and General Electric--will produce engines for Boeing's 777s. Pratt & Whitney is offering derivatives of its PW4000 series. The first 777 will be powered by PW4073 engines (Tortolano, 1991, pp. 122-134). Long-range 777s, however, may employ PW4084 engines. The PW4084 has a 112-inch-diameter fan.
